Speck

I am constantly humbled and amazed by our creator God. Isn’t it absolutely amazing that a drop of water, so small, when united together with other drops can become a powerful torrent, a crashing wave, or a breathtakingly beautiful lake. One of my regular reflections is based in and around this thought. That in relation to God I am only a speck. That’s amazingly humbling in a world where celebrities are built up to be icons, where the upper classes are seen as better, and where we all live for ourselves. I am only a speck.

But, God uses specks, for the furtherance of His heavenly kingdom here on earth, he uses specks.
It’s true also, that like a wave or the ocean, specks that are united are far stronger than those that are apart. As a church and a nation we head towards HOPE 2008 – a year of mission and action to show the love of Christ Jesus to other people.

Let’s humble ourselves, realising that God can, and God does! He is God and we are his vessels, and through that humility may we united as the church of Jesus Christ to reach a lost, broken, crooked and depraved world.
