Epitaph

I've started reading a book called CHAZOWN. A really interesting book regarding vision and purpose. The word chazown is from the Hebrew language meaning a dream, revelation, or vision. The book is a holistic approach to deciphering, expressing and living God's vision for your live.

In the first section of the book there is a really interesting challenge set: to plan your epitaph. When you die what do you want to be remembered for? What would your life have stood for? How has your life impacted others?

It is so easy in everyday life to say 'I'll do it tomorrow' or to put things off. The attitude I often hear is 'I have all my life to live that way, so I'll live a little rebelliously right now'

Those kind of attitudes are quite common, but they can easily become not just for the here and now, but for our whole life. Once we determine a course it is hard to steer from it.

Our desired epitaph reflects how we want to live our lives. The choice is whether we will actually do it.

I want to be remembered for seeing people come to into the kingdom of God, I want to stand up for God in a unbelieving world, and be a light into the dark places.I want God to say 'well done' because my life would reflect his very nature. I want to be remembered as a loving leader, husband, father....

We all have desires, visions, dream
Let's get on and live them out instead of regretting that we didn't when we no longer can.
