First repenter

In a variety of different contexts and settings I have been thinking about the need to continually repent of our sin.
I believe that we are saved once through the grace of God through Christ (Justification) but we need to be continually changed through grace as well (sanctification)

If this is true we need to get to grips with repentance, we must express and feel sincere remorse and regret for our shortcomings and sin, we must understand the Christ turns repentance into restoration and we must model this to the people we co-exist with, in the workplace, in the family and in the church.

I attended a conference last week where the phrase of first repenter was used, specifically in the context of marriage, but I believe it can be applied in other areas as well!

How do we model repentance, and are you the first to repent?
Leaders, we must be the first to repent as the modeling of this will send a strong message to those whom we lead.

I was challenged deeply by this idea and ask that you will join me in seeking to become the first repenter in whatever context you find yourself, to lay everything down before God and say 'I come to the cross again and say sorry'

Repentance is the start of restoration!
