I love it when I get amazed by scripture. Generally when something so powerfully jumps out of the pages and hits you with reality!
As I read 1 Peter 3 last night I had one such moment;
Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as braided hair and the wearing of gold jewelry and fine clothes. Instead, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God's sight.
We put so much emphasis on outward beauty, on looking good, on being attractive. Yet Peter teaches hear that beauty, really beauty, comes from the inner self. That inner self being the UNFADING beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit.
Outward beauty fades, we get older and no matter how much anti wrinkle cream we buy and use we will never turn back the hands of time. We all get older and outward beauty fades, but God looks at our hearts and sees who we really are! He see's in each of us an unfading beauty, that doesn't go with age. As we see beauty in others and respond with love, God knows and sees that beauty in us and loves!!
