There's so many different types of news in the world today, just the other day we heard of the car that was driven into Glasgow airport, about the flooding in much of the north of England, about how the Spice Girls have got back together, about the governments who serve our countries and the list goes on and on and on and on......
The word 'gospel' translates to Good News - but what is the good news that we profess?
What differentiates the good news of Jesus from any other news that we hear on the radio or watch on the TV?
How do people see a difference between the 'good news' and just 'news'?
It's obvious that stories lined to terrorism is 'bad news', It's debatable whether the Spice Girls getting together is bad news??!!
Generally winning sporting events etc is seen as 'good news'.
It is not the Good News of Jesus that needs to change!! Therefore, it must be the way we tell it.
In application, we need to know what the Good News is that we believe in and live out!
The difference between Good News and 'news' is that it can be life changing to everyone who hears it! Whereas a news story can impact millions for a snippet of time, the Good News can cut to the very core of our being and change us for a lifetime.
How do people hear this Good News?
We've got to tell them, but perhaps more importantly we have to live it!
