Happy Christmas

For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. John 3:17

It's Christmas Day, I'm awake with excitement, but it is as no other Christmas. I look forward to two church services, a long drive home, and then spending it with family. I can't wait for that, but finally I am understanding the truth of Christmas. I mean, I knew it, everyone know the nativity story and that the shepherds wore tea towels on their heads.... BUT, I am coming to understand Christmas.

For God sent His son to this world in love for the people He created. But, He did not send His perfect, flawless son to condemn this fallen, broken world, but instead to save it!

I look forward to the festivities Christmas holds, but ultimately, I'm excited that I know the Saviour who came into this world all those years ago to serve and not be served, to love, to heal, to lead, to teach, to disciple, to break down barriers, to carry a cross and ultimately to save!!

If our greatest need had been information,
God would have sent us an educator.

If our greatest need had been technology,
God would have sent us a scientist.

If our greatest need had been money,
God would have sent us an economist.

If our greatest need had been pleasure,
God would have sent us an entertainer.

But our greatest need was forgiveness,
So God sent us a Saviour.
