worship

4 and a half hours after it started our worship leaders meeting ended!
It sounds worse than it is!
At Sawyers we have a number of different worship leaders, each with different styles, approaches and understandings. Today we joined for a worship leaders morning retreat. Admittedly we didn't retreat very far....only to the church lounge. Nevertheless, the time we spend sharing, encouraging, bouncing out ideas, and eating, was time well spent.

Some key thoughts that stuck out to me and I think it’s helpful for us to be reminded of:

- Worship is the human response to the revelation of God
- Worship has to be God focused, not people centred
- Worship is as important to ‘get right’ on a Monday as much as it is on a Sunday

I am humbled, and blessed by the way that God has used me in the past to lead people into his throne room.
I am reminded regularly that ‘I’ cannot do that on my own.
I long for the worship that I lead to be transformative, but ‘I’ cannot transform people!
I pray that I would come to a deeper and greater understanding of what it really means to WORSHIP
