Do you ever have those moments when a thought, a lyric, a phrase sticks in your head and you just can’t shake it off? On my way to work this morning after a shattering weekend at SOLID I was listening to the most recent Hillsong United Album. Let me share a line from one of their songs with you:
‘Break my heart for what breaks yours’
What an amazing line, an earth shattering thought! The consequences of putting this into action are huge! If our hearts start to break for what breaks Gods heart, if eyes start to see through Gods eyes, if the way we act truly reflects the lifestyle of Jesus then this world will be changed.
What breaks Gods heart?
Sin, injustice, pain, suffering, people doing their own thing, the faithful being unfaithful and the list goes on and on and on….
It is when the things that break Gods heart start to break ours that we begin to catch a glimpse of Godliness and the impact that it can have upon others! If all the things above start to break our hearts then an emotion from within us starts to change our mindset, our actions and our life. In turn, this changes those around us!
Lord, I pray that the things that break your heart would break mine! May that provoke a reaction!
