YES NO

Sometimes saying NO to something can result in a bigger, exciting, more effective YES!

A simple lesson I learnt today, that means we have to look beyond the immediate and gaze at the bigger picture and dreaming about what that may look like. By saying YES to everything, especially in a ministry context, can make us very busy, but perhaps not hugely effective! It's easy to be spread too thinly!

As I have experienced this recently I started to process some thoughts about decision making, about serving, which let to some other (perhaps more random thoughts) I won't share them all with you now!

1. Gifts - Our ministry should reflect our primary gifts
2. God's work - We should take on things that have the space to be kingdom dreams, that aren't just programs, but effective ways of seeing people experience and accept Christ!
3. Creativity in Ministry - We should not be afraid to say NO, but should always be envisioning ideas that people will just want to say YES to!

There are a few rough thoughts that came out of my choice to say No, but that gives me great joy when I see how that decision in the long term could affect more people for Jesus!
