Mission

We need to be a missional church!
Our mission as Christians is to live lifes which submit to Christ Jesus. Jesus didn't stay in the synagogue all the time, but he went out, he went to the lost, the broken, the hurting, and showed love, grace, compassion, mercy! Now there's an example we should follow!!

I found this definition of a missional church:

1. It is a church that proclaims the gospel
2. It is a community where all members are involved in learning to become disciples of Jesus
3. The Bible is normative in the life of the church
4. The church understands itself as different from the world, because of Jesus
5. The church seeks to discern Gods specific missional vocation for the entire community and for all its members.
6. Christians behave Christianly towards each other
7. The church is a community that practises reconciliation
8.People within the church hold themselves accountable to one another in love.
9. The church practises hospitality
10. Worship is a central act to praise and thank God for his presence and His promised future
11. The church is a community that provides a Christian witness
12. There is a recognition that the church itself is an incomplete expression of the reign of God

That's a fairly hefty definition, but if we are to be missional we need to be moulded into Christlikeness, both as individual believers and as a corporate body! I love church, I love the concept, I love being part of a worshipping congregation and a wider family of brothers and sisters that extends beyond this county, country, and continent! But, sometimes we need a kick up the backside, I know I do, to act in our mission! We profess to life sharing good news, lets not keep it to ourself, but share it, show it, live it and preach it!!

Let's be missional!
