'Whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it and it will be yours' Mark 11vs 24
What a profound truth!! This evening prayer was bought to my attention, the relationship that we have with God, the ways we interact with God, the short snippets of 'prayer', the long periods of time spent in Gods presence! I came back to this verse and felt God speak in a new way!
Whatever you ask for in prayer, believe you have received it and it will be yours! If I ask God for a new laptop and believe I'll get it, will I?? That's a question I posed to myself. I believe in that instance the answer would be NO! So is that contradictory to the word of God!
I believe not, but here was my ray of insight, the answer is held in the word prayer, its more than words, its more than putting a list before God. Its about being 'in tune' with Gods spirit and praying in Jesus' name! Not for the sake of ending our prayers with those three words, but really praying IN JESUS NAME!! I believe true prayer, the type that Mark refers to if we believe and receive is that which is prayed in Jesus name, in tune with His will and Spirit, not out of our own selfish ambitions and wants! James 4 vs 3
