I recommend that you take a look at. When i read this Psalm I can sense Davids passion and devotion to God. It is such a 'real' psalm. I can place myself in Davids shoes and think back to times when God was so vivid in my life. God has literally just saved David from death, He has protected David from the enemies of Israel and even Saul. Here's a couple of thoughts from Davids psalm of adoration to God.
I love you O Lord, my strength. The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge. He is my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. Psalm 18 vs 1-2
As I read those verses again today I paused upon Davids descriptions of God: Rock, deliverer, shield, stronghold! God is a protector, He is a rock, a stronghold, and the same protection and strength that God gave to David way back when is available to each on of us today! Lets trust in God and take hold of the strength and power He gives us to use!
I love Davids first comment in this Psalm, its so simple - I love you O Lord - I think sometimes we need to tell God we love him. I imagine David just overwhelmed by God and out of his mouth comes these simple words 'I love you', yet they mean so so much!
As I read through this Psalm, amazed by Davids passion and vivid imagery, one line in particular stuck out to me. I'm not going to try and explain it, but it just stuck out. As things do when the Spirit hints. Its truth, see how it impacts you
As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the Lord is flawless!!! Psalm 18 vs 30
